Craze formation in isotactic polypropylene

If i-PP is drawn below T_g a craze formation can be observed. The AFM Image shows a craze in i-PP which is bridged by PP-fibrils. Within these fibrils i-PP forms lamellae perpendicular to the drawing direction (second image).
